Call Of Duty

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

Call of Duty: Blacks Ops 2, referred to as codblopsii by myself and a friend of mine, was the annual CoD title for 2012. In the past I would skip every other year, buying only the Modern Warfare titles. The new codblopsii is a twist on Call of Duty franchise, as it has futuristic elements, which is a refreshing change. I rather enjoy playing it, so much so that I have it on both PS3 and my PC.

I bought it on the PC first, since I was too lazy to drive somewhere to purchase it on PS3. Having almost no experience playing any of the CoD  titles on PC I was in for a rude awakening. I sucked.

Call of Duty + PC + Me = Terrible scores

Playing Call of Duty on PC is a much more “loose” style of playing, with a lot more firing from the hip than lining up the sights. Shooting like that is ass-backwards to me, since I take pride in being a precision shooter, not a “spray and pray” sort. After a week of playing on the computer I about gave up any notion of being a passable player, let alone a good one. I gave up and went out a bought it on PS3, where all of my previous experience with Call of Duty stems from and its my comfort zone.

Having played both I have noticed several differences in play. Also, playing on my system of choice has given my PC play a marked improvement. I decided to write a few entries about the differences between playing codblopsii on a console and PC playing. Along with my CoD playstyle in general.
